Day 38 - 1st Day at Bryce Canyon

We were not sad to leave our little "cabin" at the Bryce Canyon resort.  It was by far the worst value for our money so far on the trip.  We got up early and headed straight for the park entrance to get the pick of the litter and the campgrounds.
Entering Bryce was like entering all of the other parks.  We showed our National Park Pass, received our maps and asked about camping.  We were directed to two nearby campgrounds, both with available spots.  We perused our options and settled on a great spot at North Campground.  Since it was early in the morning still, we cooked up some pancakes and set up camp.  Then we went for a drive to see all the viewpoints.

These pictures will fill in for any words we could use to describe it, it was absolutely amazing!

Agua Canyon
The elevation helped keep the temps down - 90 instead of 100!

Natural Bridge
After getting our fill of amazing viewpoints, we decided to get one short hike in for the day.  Little did we know, our short 3 mile hike would take several hours.  We should have been suspicious when the maps hailed it as "the world's best 3 mile hike".  These are just a handle of the photos we took during Queens Garden Loop to Navajo Trail.  Spectacular!

First bend of the hike and I was blown away

So excited to be at Bryce Canyon!
These were some serious switchbacks
Taking it all in
With our fill of amazing scenery for the day, we headed back to the campsite for some relaxation and hammock time.

We prepared tacos for dinner, made a fire and fell asleep to the almost full moon.
