Thursday morning Dan took over breakfast duty and made delicious egg sandwiches.

Fully fed, we set out to visit neighboring Sequoia National Park. The Generals Highway connects the two parks and is yet another beautiful drive. Our first destination was to a hike called Tokopah Falls. The trailhead was in the Lodgepole Campground and was very crowded with people enjoying the river.

The river didn't seem quite as deadly in the heat and drought the park was experiencing |
We didn't have that high of hopes for the hike because of all the people and relatively minimal elevation gain (600 ft. compared to the 2,000 of Nevada Falls) but were happily impressed when we reached the top. We played in the water and shot some photos before heading back down.

It was another hot day and we had planned to do another longer hike, but the heat was getting to us so we decided to go check out the largest tree in the world, the
General Sherman Tree. Again stunning, but again lots and lots of people. A walk around and some photos, and we had had our fill.

We made our way back to camp to relax for the afternoon and continued to relax into the evening. This would be our 6th night of camping in a row and while we had loved it, were looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed the next night.
